Hi Scott,

My name is Rustum Jacob.  I'm a teacher at Cochran MS and have been involved in our PSC plan.  We had a meeting with Randi Weingarten and Warren Fletcher at Cochran this morning to highlight a school that is making consistent/ sustainable/ exceptional gains year over year for the past 10 years.  Cochran is also a school where teachers and administration have an established history of collaboration and sacrifice to serve our students.  I've attached a power point that summarizes some of the data that shows how Cochran stands out.

PSC 3.0 has removed any formal pathway to exit the list.  Previous versions of PSC stated that meeting criteria would result in removal from the list, that is no longer the case.  Schools have been removed from the PSC list based on a wide assortment of reasons.  Cochran is asking to be removed based on the PSC criteria, not on special circumstances.  We go one step further to show that our AGT scores place Cochran ahead of 450+ other LAUSD schools.  We cannot understand how the District can promote AGT to evaluate teachers, but is ignoring this data in evaluating schools.  To be "data driven" would mean to remove Cochran from PSC.  It is a win for Dr. Deasy to remove Cochran, he moves AGT to application, he follows his rhetoric of "data drive".

please call or email me with any questions
