If I were a parent, I would be asking what can be done with what we have and how do we set priorities.  Instead of data driven, schools should be student driven....if you center the education around the needs of the individual students, you will not need to have data because you will know your students.  A student centered classroom is one in which the needs of individual students are met whether the need is enrichment or reinforcement.  Whatever happened to the basic classroom need of teachers knowing their students and by extension the student's family.
